Our Facilities

Proper handling and cooling help to insure the quality customers expect in the floral products they buy from Mellano. Proper temperature control is imperative for flowers to be in good condition when you receive them. Here, at Mellano, all flowers are brought directly from the field and placed in our main 13,000 square foot computer-monitored cooler.

Prior to shipping, product is boxed and sent to the pre-cooler to insure a consistent temperature throughout each box. Our pre-cooler can process over 350 boxes of flowers per hour. This allows us to pack every truck with flowers that are at just the right temperature, adhering to the cold chain process.

The San Luis Rey farm is also the home of our business office, packing house and grading shed.
